Wood Stains
Wood stains are transparent, and sometimes slightly opaque, coatings that give wood an attractive appearance. Unlike paint, stain partially penetrates the wood. Stain usually also has a moisture-regulating effect and provides UV protection. Sometimes it is applied purely to add colour. Stains are available based on water, solvent or alcohol, and can be applied in various ways: with a brush, sponge, spray gun or cloth.
Stain variants
Nitro stains, also known as lacquer stains, are transparent colour stains. The pigments and dyes in these stains are light-fast and therefore barely discolour over time. Nitro stains are also fast-drying, can be top-coated well, and are available in many colours.
Water-based stains consist of pigments dissolved in water. This gives a clear, transparent look. Water-based stains create a beautiful effect on wooden substrates such as oak, beech or veneer. The average drying time is three to four hours. After that, they can be top-coated well and, like nitro stains, are available in many colours.
Nature-Line Outdoor is an extremely weather- and UV-resistant, flame-retardant stain for outdoor use. This stain is solvent-free and therefore very environmentally friendly. It is highly suitable for wooden facade cladding, outdoor wood constructions, garden sheds, outdoor furniture and fencing. It provides the wood with optimal, long-lasting protection. An emission-free product with an ECO certificate.

Maintenance advice
A protective top coat of lacquer is always applied over all stains, with the exception of the outdoor stain. Clean with a damp cloth and a mild (green) soap. Never use an aggressive cleaning agent.
