UV lacquers are special coatings containing components that cure rapidly when exposed to UV light. They can be applied in various ways, such as pouring, roller-coating or spraying. After the UV lacquer is applied, the item is carried along a conveyor belt through a curing unit, where it is exposed to UV radiation and the lacquer cures within just a few seconds.
The major advantage of UV lacquer is that the most commonly used application techniques, such as pouring and roller-coating, generate hardly any waste. UV lacquers are also solvent-free or very low in solvents (a maximum of 5%).
