Water-Based Lacquer
Water-based lacquers or paints are water-dilutable and low-odour, making them pleasant to work with indoors. The solvent in this type of paint largely consists of water. Solvents in the paint improve flow and also make it easy to apply the paint with a roller, brush or spray gun. Our water-based paint is for indoor use.
Applicability/Market
Suitable for all types of wood and MDF, available in clear and multiple colors.
Maintenance advice
In addition to standard maintenance that applies to all wooden floors and furniture (removing dirt and dust daily), lacquered wooden floors and furniture can simply be mopped or cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Never use an aggressive cleaning agent.
Lacquer variants
PCG Basic A is a water-based lacquer. This lacquer is one of two components and, thanks to its good flow, gives clarity to the natural look of wood. It is a very high-quality product that is highly scratch-resistant. This lacquer is a good, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional lacquer systems, as it contains almost no solvent (less than 3%). Suitable for all types of wood.
Basic B is the second component, the hardener. It ensures that Basic A dries faster and sands well.
PCG Basic (A and B) is a softly glossy water-based lacquer for a natural finish on indoor wood.

Other water-based lacquer:
Plaquadur colour lacquer is used on all types of wood, including MDF. It can generally be used as both a primer and a top coat. It is important to always treat a test area first to assess adhesion. Plaquadur primer: thanks to its high solids content, this is a very good, high-build primer. Fast-drying and sands well.
Plaquadur Clear: available in both 1- and 2-component versions, a good, environmentally friendly alternative to existing lacquer systems. Plaquadur Colour: can be applied as both a primer and a top coat.
